About The Position

Imagine a role where you are the trusted owner of a facility's entire controls network. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to not only troubleshoot and maintain our systems but to proactively improve them. This is an opportunity to showcase your expertise, support critical maintenance and operations, and build strong relationships across the site with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High school degree AND 5+ years in place controls
  • Verifiable training with Rockwell PLC’s.
  • Lifting 25 lbs.
  • A lifelong learner who is self-motivated to explore, discover, and grow
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing facility electrical and machine control systems and their applications.
  • Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation Software Systems, including RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components, FactoryTalk, EtherNet/IP and Panel View Studio ME.
  • Understanding of control system server, PC, and networking hardware including Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical power equipment, motor controls (including VFD’s and servo’s), and instrumentation

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering AND 2+ years of work experience in plant controls OR An associate degree from a technical institution in a related field AND 3+ years’ experience in a controls tech position.
  • Advanced computer skill utilizing Scada systems, Rockwell Automation suite, and Microsoft suite

Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility and accountability for all equipment located within the plant control networks to the component level in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings such as P&ID’s, electrical and controls schematics, controls narratives, automation deliverables like logic diagrams.
  • Total ownership of the site calibration program.
  • Responsible for assisting in developing critical preventative and predictive maintenance plans working closely with key site stakeholders.
  • Work closely to assist in the managing of automation and integration work with 3rd parties such as OEM vendors and integrators.
  • Accountable to improve plant controls and automation to meet plant efficiency goals.
  • Partner with maintenance team members, lead instrumentation troubleshooting and optimization efforts utilizing internal and external resources when necessary.
  • Champion personnel and product safety, participating in key safety and design reviews.
  • Passionate about developing talent and are eager to mentor and train team members to elevate the entire team's capabilities.
