Automation Engineer
About The Position
The Automation Engineer is responsible for the purchasing and design of automation. This role involves identifying and presenting cost-saving opportunities related to automation to management. The engineer will maintain and improve existing automation machines, coordinate with outside suppliers, and generate specifications for new automation machines. Responsibilities also include approving designs, managing construction schedules, procuring purchase orders, assisting with production start-ups and troubleshooting, and overseeing continual improvement of automation machines across divisions. The role also requires assisting other divisions with automation projects and using a handheld propane torch on the production floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three years' experience in automation, maintenance, design and construction
- General knowledge of machining, part design, CAD, Injection Molding and manufacturing operations
- Good communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Basic Computer and advanced PLC programming experience required with automated equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Account management skills
- Supervisory skills
