About The Position

Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add an Automation Engineer to their Chicago team! This role involves the design, installation, commissioning, testing, and management of instrumentation and control systems (SCADA) for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related infrastructure. The position requires collaboration with internal departments, project management, and direct client interaction for onsite configuration, installation assistance, and system start-up. An on-call rotation for troubleshooting is also part of the role.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• 5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer performing design, programming, installation and startup tasks
• Programming experience using PLCs, SCADA, and OITs software
• Experience using various products (Concentric Integration primarily include Allen-Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, and other hardware/software)
• Advanced computer skills
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

• Auto CAD/Visio experience

Responsibilities

• Design, installation, commissioning, and testing of instrumentation & control systems (SCADA)
• Collaboration with internal departments including information technology, engineering, and operations
• Project management, team management, and ensuring quality control during all project phases
• Instrumentation & control design services for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related facilities
• Onsite work for municipal clients (instrumentation configuration, installation assistance, and control system and process start-up/testing)
• On-call 24/7 (rotate weekly) to troubleshoot instrumentation/control issues
