About The Position

Baxalta US Inc. is seeking a Automation – EBM Manager. This role involves managing and coordinating the EBM team, initiatives, and projects. The manager will make suggestions for improvements based on data, technical knowledge, engineering principles, and industry practices. They will manage or support EBM activities for capital projects with minimal assistance and lead the planning and execution of EBM automation activities for operational activities and capital projects as the Engineering lead for the EBM automation area. Responsibilities include defining project scopes, preparing time or cost estimates, and providing justification for operational initiatives and capital budgets. The role also involves managing and controlling spending of approved automation project funds, driving projects to completion within timeline and budget objectives, and creating or updating technical support specifications. The manager will supervise contractors and junior engineers, demonstrate continuous improvement in engineering knowledge and problem-solving, stay informed about biopharmaceutical industry best practices and technologies, evaluate customer problems and address them through system solutions, and design/implement changes to EBM or automation systems while adhering to validation and change control procedures. Additionally, the role includes performing event investigations related to EBM automation systems, implementing corrective and preventative actions, performing and documenting hardware/software modifications and system updates, preparing standard operating procedures, and mentoring Automation Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 8 years of related experience
  • Analyze production workflows to configure and implement MES modules for real-time monitoring of manufacturing operations
  • Implement batch recipe management within EBM systems to standardize production steps and reduce manual errors
  • Plan project timelines and resource allocation using project management tools to deliver system implementation milestones
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute system deployment activities within defined scope, schedule, and budget

  • Evaluate customer problems or requirements and address those through the system solutions or design
  • Design and implement changes to EBM or automation systems while adhering to pharmaceutical validation and change control systems problems
  • Perform event’s investigation related to EBM automation system and implement the corrective and preventative action required to address the event
  • Perform and document hardware/software modifications, and system functional specification updates
  • Prepare standard operating procedures for new and existing control equipment
