About The Position

This position maintains automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, VFDs, and industrial networking platforms, across assigned facilities. The role involves troubleshooting operational issues by interpreting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and instrumentation documentation. The engineer will respond to system events with urgency, providing on-site and remote support during downtimes to restore system functionality. They will lead or support maintenance teams during equipment failures by guiding troubleshooting steps and root cause analysis. Communication with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety partners is key for real-time status updates during recovery events. The role also includes implementing corrective actions, verifying system stability, and programming/modifying control logic across PLC, HMI, and industrial PC platforms. Analysis of control system performance, utilization, and capacity to identify optimization opportunities is expected. Support for improvements to control system architecture, change management routines, and integration of new automation technologies is also part of the responsibilities. Process improvement initiatives will be executed by reviewing system data, downtime trends, case-flow anomalies, and equipment performance. Completing CMMS work orders, logs, and digital documentation accurately is required. The engineer will develop training materials and support technical upskilling of maintenance associates. This role requires demonstrating up-to-date expertise and applying it to action plans, providing expert advice, and aligning efforts to meet business needs. Building relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, identifying business needs, and implementing necessary processes are crucial. Requirements

  • Technical school diploma or equivalent and 1 year’s experience in controls or related area.
  • 3 years’ experience in controls or related area, including PLC or robotics programming experience.
