About The Position

As our Controls & Automation Engineer II, you’ll support a diverse manufacturing plant with multiple value streams, taking ownership of controls activities such as sustaining projects, change control, new equipment design and commissioning, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. By driving automation and implementing world-class best practices, you’ll help ensure Epredia delivers excellent results. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Operations and Transformations & Deputy Site Director, you’ll work alongside a dynamic team of engineers while gaining hands-on experience with unique processes and developing valuable skills in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Requirements

  • A depth of experience in Controls/ Systems engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, configuration, and testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of validation principles and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in equipment development, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with successful delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement to improve operational efficiency and performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in glass substrates and screen printing.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Preferred Knowledge of process historians (OSI PI, FactoryTalk Historian)
  • Experience working with CAD & Label design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute validation and qualification activities for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Act as the go-to expert for controls and automation, supporting the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of legacy and new equipment.
  • Configure, program, test, and debug automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, data collection, and control systems.
  • Lead and mentor technical teams in equipment repairs, downtime reduction, and root cause investigations.
  • Design electrical control panels, including schematics, component selection, and panel layouts.
  • Support product quality investigations, CAPAs, continuous improvement initiatives, and production issue resolution.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), Change Control, Sustaining Engineering, and Capital projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic improvements to manufacturing and automation systems.
