About The Position

The Automation Controls Engineer I is responsible for the creation, modification, and maintenance of programs for various systems including machines, robotics, and third-party integrations. This role involves assisting Checkout Technicians with factory testing and developing documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing among Controls Engineers, Checkout, and Service Technicians. A key aspect of the position is to review and troubleshoot customer field issues, providing viable solutions for quick resolution. The engineer will also contribute to projects aimed at improving the speed, capacity, reliability, functionality, and ease of operation of systems. Support for the Service Department in troubleshooting machines, both remotely and on-site, is also required. The individual must ensure that all programs adhere to a standardized and structured format for clarity and ease of understanding by colleagues and customers. Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or Related Field) or two-year degree in Engineering (or equivalent and 3 years of related experience in the field of automation and robotics).
  • Familiarity with motion control, servo controls, HMI, and packaging equipment.
  • Able to read, understand, analyze and problem solve electrical schematics and engineering related software programs.
  • Able to use standard computer programs for work processing including Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to tutor and/or lead others on designs and projects.
  • Must exhibit a high level of inquisitiveness, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively (verbally and non-verbally) to individuals and groups, internally and externally, to exchange ideas and convey detailed information accurately.
  • Works well with a variety of people and personalities, and with other Delkor departments.
  • Works collaboratively, as a team member, to suggest ideas and resolve issues in a positive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Service Department in troubleshooting machines, either in the field via telephone or on-site at the customer’s facility.
  • Ensure that programs follow a standardized and structured format and notation for ease of understanding by co-workers and customers.
