About The Position

Our Automation and Controls Engineers/Specialists develop and implement solutions to optimize production processes, improve plant safety, product quality, and production throughput. They are responsible for controls standards, PLC/HMI programming, equipment commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting of control system issues and project support. We’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer/Specialist to join our brand new state of the art Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) facility located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With approximately 250 employees, our Heffley Creek mill produces engineered wood products like plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) safely and sustainably for customers around the world.

Requirements

  • A qualified Trades Certification with relevant experience, an Engineering degree, or an Engineering Technical Diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (forest products manufacturing preferred).
  • Experience with PLC programming such as Allen Bradley, HMI or Rockwell (Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred).
  • Experience with Human Machine Interfaces.
  • Proficient with FactoryTalk software (View, Linx, AssetCentre, etc.).
  • Experience with industrial machine automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Siemens would be considered an asset.
