About The Position

Piedmont Door Solutions is hiring an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician to serve Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding area. Technicians travel to commercial buildings, hospitals, stores, and other locations to repair, maintain, and install doors and entrance products. The company provides the training, tools, equipment, and vehicles needed for the role. The position is suited to someone with experience or a background in a skilled trade, such as residential or commercial doors, garage doors, construction, military service, electrical work, fabrication, access control, glazing, carpentry, mechanical work, or installing or servicing products. Depending on the job site, travel may be up to two hours.

Requirements

Possess an unrestricted, valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Be comfortable using power tools and hand tools, personally or professionally.
Be able to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Be able to lift more than 75 pounds and work at heights or use a ladder.
Successfully complete a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Experience in carpentry, electrical work, the military, HVAC, or a similar field.
A background in residential or commercial doors, garage doors, construction, fabrication, access control, glazing, mechanical work, or installing or servicing products.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products.
Proactively assist with projects and work autonomously in a high-expectation, low-supervision environment.
Learn techniques from a trainer, build on existing skills, and demonstrate a desire to grow.
Keep worksites clean, organized, and professional; pay attention to detail, take pride in workmanship, and solve customer problems.
Order and track parts and materials, and record time spent on services.
