About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring an Automated Side Load garbage truck driver in Miami, FL. This position offers a pay rate of $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience, with a workweek of approximately 50-55 hours, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The role involves safely operating a specialized garbage truck to collect commercial solid waste, ensuring timely and accurate disposal by operating hydraulic systems. Drivers will interact courteously with customers, perform daily vehicle inspections, and adhere to safety protocols. The job requires performing physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers, and maintaining the cleanliness of the truck and work area. Drivers will follow assigned route sheets and service all customers as directed by the dispatcher.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs without accommodation.
At least 2+ years of stable job history, with most recent job being a CDL driver position.
At least 2 years of CDL driving experience.
No accidents on driving record in the last five years.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Automated Side Load garbage truck on specified routes to collect commercial solid waste.
Ensure accurate and timely collection and disposal of waste by operating hydraulic systems to empty containers.
Interact courteously with customers while performing the job.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during collection and disposal.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers.
Maintain cleanliness of the truck and work area.
Follow route sheets and service each customer assigned by the dispatcher.
