About this role As a Global Strategic Accounts – Critical Systems Project Manager for ALC, you will lead the execution of large-scale, mission-critical building automation and controls projects (initial assignment: Hubbard, TX). This role is intended for a high-level project leader who can step into high-risk, high-visibility work and drive predictable delivery in safety, schedule, quality, and financial performance. This is a Global Strategic Accounts position and is not tied to a specific region. You will be assigned locally to support project execution where it is most critical to project success. The Global Strategic Accounts – Critical Systems Project Manager is deployed to projects requiring high-level execution leadership, stabilization, or recovery support. You will provide on-site presence during critical phases of major programs and serve as a local resource to branch teams that need additional expertise, governance, and customer-facing leadership. This role is highly visible and requires the ability to operate at both the strategic and execution levels—supporting branch teams while directly influencing outcomes on major, complex projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of Building Automation and Controls experience and/or 3+ years prior Project Management or Supervisory experience
  • 1+ years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Clean and valid driver’s license
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment above 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in HVAC (Building Automation Controls), Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Serve as an extension of ALC leadership, driving consistent project governance, execution standards, and customer experience across assigned projects.
  • Advanced capability in project financial management, forecasting, cost-to-complete (EAC), and margin improvement.
  • Proven success managing complex stakeholder environments, including owners, general contractors, commissioning agents, and national/global accounts.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and aligning field/engineering execution to a single integrated plan.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, healthcare, high-availability industrial environments).
  • Working knowledge of commissioning and integrated systems testing processes (e.g., L3–L5), including readiness planning and turnover documentation.
  • Experience with ALC building automation platforms, including WebCTRL, and familiarity with controls architecture, networks, and integration concepts.
  • Track record of project recovery/turnaround, including schedule compression, claim/change management, and executive-level reporting.
  • Leadership experience mentoring and developing project managers and field leaders.
  • Professional certification(s) such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of large, complex, multi-million-dollar building automation programs, ensuring alignment to contract requirements, schedule milestones, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Own project financial performance, including budget management, EAC development, forecasting cadence, cost controls, and margin protection.
  • Develop and execute revenue recognition, billing, and cash-collection strategies in coordination with finance and branch leadership.
  • Establish project strategy and control plans (scope, schedule, quality, safety), including risk identification, mitigation, change control, and recovery planning.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for customers, general contractors, and internal leadership; drive timely decisions and clear communications.
  • Align cross-functional teams (engineering, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning) to deliver coordinated execution and issue resolution.
  • Step into challenged or high-risk projects and lead stabilization/turnaround efforts, including schedule re-baselining and stakeholder re-alignment.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in project documentation, reporting, meetings, and executive communications.
  • Lead resource planning and deployment in coordination with regional and branch leadership to support critical path activities.
  • Provide leadership through critical phases such as mobilization, first-of-kind start-ups, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and customer turnover.
  • Mentor and develop project managers and field leadership through coaching, standard work, and lessons learned.
  • Able to lead and motivate teams.
