About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a V&V lead to join our avionics systems team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of the autoflight systems team responsible for integration and development of design solutions applicable to the autoflight systems (AFCS) for the A220 aircraft. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as an Autoflight Systems V&V Lead will be to lead maturity testing, verification, and validation (V&V) activities related to the development and certification of the next generation of A220 automated flight systems.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Software, or Aerospace Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in avionics systems verification and validation (V&V) within a development environment
  • Excellent command of engineering change management, development processes, and avionics systems certification
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards for avionics systems development, including: 14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-254
  • Deep expertise in avionics systems, specifically guidance systems, autopilot, and autothrottle
  • Strong scripting and programming skills
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, excellent organizational abilities, and rigor
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential
  • Must be eligible to obtain required export control clearances (EAR and dual-use goods regulations)
  • Occasional international travel required

Responsibilities

  • Lead maturity testing, verification, and validation (V&V) activities related to the development and certification of the next generation of A220 automated flight systems
  • Manage priorities, test strategies, and work package scheduling to meet project objectives
  • Define test bench needs and requirements for the automated flight systems scope, and review interconnection diagrams
  • Analyze and understand new or modified functionalities, and determine the appropriate testing strategy and test platform
  • Draft and execute test procedures (manual and automated) based on development and integration requirements across the project's various test benches
  • Analyze test results and draft compliance reports required for certification
  • Draft labor/work estimates and collaborate on schedule definition
  • Report project status during technical and coordination meetings
  • Lead technical exchanges and follow-ups with suppliers
  • Review verification and validation (V&V) plans to ensure automated flight systems comply with certification objectives
