About The Position

Pinchin is seeking an AutoCAD & GIS Technician to join our Kingston, ON office. This role reports to the Operations Manager. In this role, you will provide drafting and mapping support by preparing and updating AutoCAD figures, technical drawings, borehole logs, and GIS‑based visuals for environmental and engineering reports. While the primary focus is supporting teams in the Kingston and Ottawa offices, you will also assist project teams nationally as needed. Your work will help ensure deliverables are accurate, consistent, and completed on schedule, supporting efficient report production across the organization.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD to produce and edit technical figures, drawings, and logs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, standards, and technical skills to support evolving project needs.
  • A valid driver’s licence, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle (work‑related travel expenses will be reimbursed, as applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • GIS experience (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for map creation and spatial data visualization is a strong asset.
  • PowerPoint experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, update, and maintain high‑quality figures, technical drawings, borehole logs, and GIS maps using AutoCAD and GIS software.
  • Provide timely drafting and mapping support to technical staff in Kingston and Ottawa, with additional support to project teams across Canada as required.
  • Perform routine edits, revisions, and formatting of CAD and GIS outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency with company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to prioritize requests and manage workload across multiple projects and regions.
  • Support report production by ensuring all figures, maps, and logs are completed on schedule to reduce delays and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and organize CAD drawings, GIS files, templates, and databases in accordance with internal quality and documentation standards.
  • Identify and communicate potential drafting or data issues that may impact reporting timelines or accuracy.
