About The Position

Under general supervision, performs public contact and clerical work in processing vehicle title applications and transfers, and collects a variety of fees. This role involves determining the factory cost of vehicles, issuing titles, perfecting and releasing liens, and issuing transfer title extensions. The clerk will verify data on applications, proofread listings, and notarize titles. Responsibilities also include responding to inquiries, typing correspondence, maintaining files, collecting and accounting for fees, data entry, preparing data for the State, conducting record research, and processing mail. The position may also involve processing titles for county-owned vehicles and filling in for other staff as needed.
