About The Position

Provide support for the classroom teacher and building as outlined in the Work-Based Learning training plan. This internship is designed for current high school students and requires the ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Basic reading, writing, and computation skills are necessary, along with good written and oral communication skills. Basic computer skills are preferred. The intern must be able to communicate and collaborate well in a team environment and demonstrate responsibility and integrity when handling personal information. The schedule must accommodate the student's academic commitments, and a minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.

Requirements

• Current High School Student
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Basic reading, writing, and computation skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate well in a team environment.
• Responsibility and integrity with dealing with personal information.
• Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher at the homeschool.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring student safety in the lab.
• Assist the teacher in demonstrating proper tool usage.
• Assist the teacher with lab equipment demonstrations.
• Aide students in the location of tools and equipment as needed.
• Aide students with any assigned tasks as needed.
