About The Position

The Delivery Dispatcher is essential to the success of a high volume store. He or she receives, records, and distributes orders to delivery drivers upon customers' requests. They assist the store’s delivery drivers to coordinate the most efficient routes and communicate with customers estimated times of their delivery. They will have the opportunity to make deliveries to meet the needs of our customers along with their other duties.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License (Class E required for all Missouri locations), clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely drive a vehicle in different weather and traffic conditions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Automotive parts and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Records information such as name, address, and special instructions.
  • Helps fill orders and distributes to delivery crew.
  • Schedules delivery (if necessary) and dispatches delivery drivers.
  • Calls customer to ensure satisfactory performance of service and keeps record of orders.
  • Dispatches orders and relays messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments.
  • Delivers parts when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service. This includes but is not limited to assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Abide by rules of the road and laws for safely operating a vehicle.
  • Determine the priority of deliveries including the most timely and efficient route, when not directed by a manager or counterperson.
  • Receive and process orders and other documents by reviewing for completeness and clarity before delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and well running delivery vehicle by performing routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Maintain a clean facility inside and outside. This includes but is not limited to sweep, mop, pick up trash, straighten and dust shelves, rearrange stock, etc.
  • Adhere to scheduled work time unless authorized by a manager.
  • All other job duties as assigned.
