About The Position
Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Refinish Prepper to prepare customer vehicles for quality refinishing and restore them to pre-accident condition. The position thoroughly sands, masks, primes, and prepares vehicles for refinishing in accordance with insurance guidelines and collision repair facility standards. Compensation is $17–$20 flat rate, based on turned (booked) hours, with a guarantee of the applicable local or state minimum wage for clocked hours if period compensation falls below minimum wage. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces, mask vehicles, and apply primer and topcoats.
- Apply primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats, and clear coats.
- Restore anti-corrosion treatments and identify substrates; mix and apply products.
- Evaluate bodywork to help ensure a quality paint job.
- Sand, mask, prime, and prepare each vehicle for refinishing according to insurance guidelines and facility standards.
- Prepare vehicles for quality refinish repairs that restore them to pre-accident condition.
