About The Position

Pneumatech is looking for an experienced Auto Mechanic to join our ETX team and play an important role in keeping our company fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. This position will primarily focus on the maintenance and repair of our fleet of Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge trucks, including both gas and diesel vehicles. Approximately 90% of the position will be dedicated to fleet maintenance, with occasional work on small equipment such as generators, backhoes, and other company equipment. The position is based at our ETX shop, with travel to our STX and WTX locations as needed when fleet issues arise.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an automotive, fleet, or related mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience working on both gas and diesel vehicles.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance and repair needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to furnish and maintain personal mechanic tools necessary to perform the job, depending on the specialty and tools required.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications.
  • Relevant mechanic certifications or licenses.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and systems.
  • Experience maintaining a commercial or company fleet.
  • Experience working on Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge trucks.
  • Experience with small equipment, generators, backhoes, or similar equipment.
  • Additional technical training or certifications related to automotive or equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge trucks, including gas and diesel vehicles.
  • Travel to our STX and WTX locations when needed to respond to fleet vehicle issues, perform repairs, and minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and vehicle-related issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs, including brake work, battery replacement, and other maintenance services.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, cooling systems, braking systems, and other vehicle components.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and accurately to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Communicate vehicle conditions, repair needs, and recommendations to management.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of small equipment, including generators, backhoes, and other company equipment, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Properly use and maintain shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other fleet, shop, and maintenance-related duties as assigned.
