About The Position

This role is a mid-level Automotive Technician. This Technician may work independently or in a team environment. The technician will be responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs, including but not limited to brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine and hydraulics. The role also involves direct interaction with customers and requires exceptional interpersonal skills. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for maintaining shop equipment, keeping the shop area clean, and performing work in accordance with safety standards, including the proper disposal of fluids.

Requirements

  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to work at a specified Cox location.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

  • Experience conducting a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of the vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
  • Based upon certification levels, performs various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
  • Maintains/repairs shop equipment.
  • Keeps shop area clean and tidy.
  • Perform work in accordance with safety standards.
  • Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
  • Creates and maintains vehicle history and maintenance records.
  • May up fit new vehicles with the necessary equipment.
  • Performs light to major repairs.
  • Performs advanced vehicle diagnostics.
  • Assures prompt repairs by interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs.
  • Provides roadside assistance as needed.
  • Uses custom equipment when needed in order to complete moderate design/fabrication tasks including welding.
  • Assures maintenance of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators and electrical systems, hybrids, and onboard computer systems.
  • Responsible for direct interaction with customers and displays exceptional interpersonal skills while driving service center’s performance with the highest integrity and trust.
  • Responsible for the efficient diagnosis, repair, and replacement of general automotive parts and accessories.
  • Conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs; including but not limited to brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine and hydraulics.
