About The Position

A-1 Auto Glass is seeking mechanically minded individuals who take pride in their work and love serving customers to join their team as an Auto Glass Technician (AGT). This role involves high-quality auto glass installation, rock chip repairs, and learning the trade. The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and ready to make a difference. Each day involves inspecting customer vehicles, performing windshield replacements and rock chip repairs using specialized tools and safety protocols, and assisting customers with payment and insurance processes. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean shop and company vehicle, and working closely with the call center team.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to lift 50-75 pounds and handle physical tasks
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must meet company standards on pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto glass installation and repair
  • Proven track record of working with various types of vehicles and glass materials
  • Experience in handling and utilizing auto glass installation tools and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of auto glass installation techniques and safety protocols
  • Ability to accurately measure and cut glass to fit specific vehicle requirements
  • Proficient in the use of adhesive materials and sealants for glass installation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address and rectify installation challenges
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively

Responsibilities

  • Perform windshield replacements and rock chip repairs.
  • Inspect customer vehicles for pre-existing damage and review with the customer.
  • Use specialized tools and safety protocols for installations and repairs.
  • Vacuum up broken glass.
  • Reattach parts such as moldings and wipers.
  • Conduct a final inspection of the vehicle before returning it to the customer.
  • Keep records up to date.
  • Assist customers with payment and insurance processes.
  • Work closely with the call center team to resolve order issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and company vehicle.
