About The Position

Classic Collision, established in 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia, is hiring an Auto Body Technician to repair vehicles while upholding the company’s commitment to safety, quality, integrity, and customer service. The technician disassembles vehicles to help estimators assess damage and prepare complete repair plans, performs body repairs and replacement work, and inspects completed repairs for safety and quality. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Successful completion of a background check required.
Ability to use hands and to talk and hear; frequently stand, sit, and walk, at times for long periods; and occasionally reach with hands and arms and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Close and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus; ability to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.

Nice To Haves

I-CAR or ASE certifications preferred.
Two to three years of collision repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Disassemble vehicles to help Collision Estimators assess damage and prepare a complete repair plan.
Identify all needed repairs to reduce supplements and minimize repair time.
Plan work procedures and follow the work order for all listed operations.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic windows, and seat operating equipment when needed to access damaged areas.
Store parts on carts or cover them to prevent damage.
Repair damaged bodywork by hammering out or filling dents and welding broken parts; ensure gaps and fits meet industry standards.
Remove damaged panels and install replacement parts using bolts or welds, then reassemble vehicles after parts are painted.
Operate hand and power tools, including welders, soldering equipment, cutting torches, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sanders, and spray guns.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before turning vehicles over to the Paint Department.
Repair or replace defective parts.
Inspect and test-drive repaired vehicles to check compliance with safety and quality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Comply with Classic Collision standard operating procedures, safety rules, and guidelines.
