About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring an Auto Body Technician to perform collision repairs at one of its repair locations. The role examines damaged vehicles, plans repairs efficiently, and coordinates with others about repair status. Technicians make repair-versus-replace decisions with safety, cost, and cycle time in mind, and complete quality repairs while maintaining on-time performance. The position is paid on a commission/flag-rate structure. Flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The listed compensation range reflects average flag pay for a typical full-time employee in this position. Requirements

Ability to use a frame machine.
Knowledge of the vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
I-CAR welding certified.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
Ability to supervise repair personnel.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Nice To Haves

Certification in body repair is preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process.
Work and communicate with others regarding vehicle repair status.
Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
Decide whether to repair or replace components, considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to access the vehicle and fenders.
Participate in required safety meetings.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
Direct an apprentice’s work when needed, including addressing unusual problems or questions and explaining procedures to the assistant.
