About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring an Auto Body Technician to perform collision repairs. The technician examines damaged vehicles and plans repairs efficiently, makes repair-versus-replace decisions with safety, cost, and cycle time in mind, and completes quality repairs while maintaining on-time status. The role also includes communicating repair status, removing vehicle components to access damaged areas, and using power and hand tools to prepare repaired surfaces. The technician may direct an apprentice when needed and is expected to participate in required safety meetings. Compensation is commission/flag-rate based. Flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The posted compensation range represents average flag pay for a typical full-time employee in this position: $70,980–$180,000 per year. Actual offers depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and qualifications.

Requirements

Ability to use a frame machine.
Knowledge of vehicle repair processes by manufacturer.
I-CAR welding certification.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
Ability to supervise repair personnel.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Nice To Haves

Certification in body repair is preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process.
Work and communicate with others regarding vehicle repair status.
Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
Decide whether to repair or replace components, considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicles and fenders.
Participate in all required safety meetings.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
Direct an apprentice’s work when needed, including addressing unusual problems or questions and explaining procedures.
