About The Position

This position offers a $5,000 New Hire Signing Bonus. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm. The role involves inspecting damaged vehicles, assessing repair requirements, preparing vehicles for repair, performing body repairs such as dent removals and plastic welding, and repairing/restoring damaged vehicle bodies to factory or pre-accident condition. This includes removing, repairing, or replacing damaged components like bumpers, fenders, doors, panels, and trims. Surfaces will be prepared for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and applying fillers. The technician will utilize Guide Coat, Primer, and Bondo, and ensure proper alignment of panels, gaps, and body lines. Knowledge of operating Stud welding equipment is required. The technician must follow repair orders accurately, complete work within established timeframes, maintain high-quality workmanship according to company standards and OEM repair procedures, and conduct quality control inspections. Additionally, the role requires keeping the work area clean and organized, maintaining tools and equipment, and communicating effectively with supervisors, estimators, and team members regarding repair progress and issues. All safety guidelines and environmental regulations must be followed.

Requirements

  • Must work at a specified Cox location.
  • Clear a pre-employment drug test (marijuana pre-employment drug test not administered, but drug-free workplace policies apply).
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in an auto body shop as a body repair technician.
  • Knowledge of parts removal.
  • Paint Prep and masking, Painting, and buffing a plus.
  • Knowledge of waterborne paint is a plus.
  • Willing to assist in other areas based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect damaged vehicles and assess repair requirements, including structural, body, and cosmetic damage.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Perform body repairs such as dent removals, fixing body lines, and plastic welding.
  • Repairs, restores, and refinishes damaged vehicle bodies to return them to factory or pre-accident condition.
  • Remove, repair, or replace damaged components, including bumpers, fenders, doors, panels, and trims, as needed.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and applying fillers as needed.
  • Ensure proper alignment of panels, gaps, and body lines.
  • Operate Stud welding equipment.
  • Follow repair orders accurately and complete all assigned work within established timeframes.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship by adhering to company standards and OEM repair procedures.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure repairs meet safety and appearance standards.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized while maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, estimators, and team members regarding repair progress and issues.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
