About The Position

Sterling Heights Ford is seeking a skilled Auto Body Metal Technician to restore vehicles safely and accurately through quality collision repairs. The role involves structural and non-structural repairs, metalwork, welding, panel replacement, and related repair procedures, while meeting customer expectations and maintaining accurate repair documentation. The technician works with estimators, painters, and production teams and uses and maintains body shop tools and equipment. This is a full-time, onsite position with a Monday–Saturday schedule and one weekday off.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of collision repair or auto body metal technician experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with structural repairs, panel replacement, welding, and frame repair.
• At least 1 year of knowledge of body shop tools, equipment, and repair procedures.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and non-structural collision repairs.
• Repair and replace damaged body panels and components.
• Analyze vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair procedures.
• Perform sheet metal repairs, panel replacement, and alignment work.
• Follow repair plans and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Inspect and inventory parts for collision repairs.
• Monitor repair progress to ensure work is completed.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and repair orders.
• Properly use and maintain body shop tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with estimators, painters, and production teams to deliver repairs.
