About The Position

Sterling Heights Ford is seeking an experienced Auto Body Metal Technician to restore vehicles safely and accurately through quality collision repairs. The role handles structural and non-structural repairs, metal and sheet metal work, panel replacement and alignment, welding, and frame repair. The technician follows repair plans and manufacturer procedures, inspects parts, monitors repair progress, maintains documentation and repair orders, and uses and maintains body shop tools and equipment. The position is onsite and scheduled Monday through Saturday, with one day off during the week.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of collision repair or auto body metal technician experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with structural repairs, panel replacement, welding, and frame repair.
• At least 1 year of knowledge of body shop tools, equipment, and repair procedures.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and non-structural collision repairs.
• Repair and replace damaged body panels and components.
• Analyze vehicle damage and determine proper repair procedures.
• Perform sheet metal repairs, panel replacement, and alignment work.
• Follow repair plans and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Inspect and inventory parts for collision repairs.
• Monitor repair progress through completion.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and repair orders.
• Properly use and maintain body shop tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with estimators, painters, and production teams to deliver repairs.
