Radiology Associates of Florida (RAF) is a leading radiology practice in Florida, serving prestigious health systems across the state. We are quality-oriented and practice radiology at the cutting edge, utilizing state-of-the-art IT, AI tools, and integrated communication widgets. Our practice is locally and democratically led, and we serve as the teaching physicians for the University of South Florida Department of Radiology in Tampa. This position obtains, verifies, and follows up on insurance authorizations and eligibility for scheduled exams. The specialist consults with their supervisor on complex situations, contacts insurance companies for prior authorization and predetermination, and checks insurance eligibility to ensure data accuracy. They maintain CPT code authorization files based on managed care contracts, perform clerical duties, and accurately enter data into the system, matching CPT codes to exam authorizations. Collaboration with Modality Protocol, Clinical Managers, or technologists is expected to ensure accuracy and a smooth workflow.
