About The Position

Adoration Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to help patients obtain timely access to healthcare services by navigating insurance approvals. The role connects patients, insurance companies, and clinical teams to obtain and track preauthorizations. It includes customer service, authorization-status monitoring, accurate documentation, protection of sensitive patient information, cross-department collaboration, resolving authorization challenges, and helping train new employees. The position supports Adoration Health’s home-based care services for patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience in healthcare billing and/or authorization practices.
General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care.
Knowledge of healthcare operations and third-party reimbursement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, and ability to learn industry-specific software.
Strong organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

Obtain and track preauthorizations, serving as a link between patients, insurance companies, and clinical teams.
Answer calls and assist staff and insurance representatives with outstanding customer service.
Monitor and manage authorization statuses using computer reports and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
Safeguard sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Collaborate across departments to support clear communication and efficient service delivery.
Identify and resolve authorization challenges in collaboration with the supervisor and team.
Help train new employees on authorization processes and best practices.
