About The Position
The HMO Authorization Specialist is an essential member of the certified agency team. The specialist requests authorization for home care services for patients with HMO or Managed Care payment sources and serves as a liaison between community-based Coordinators of Care (COCs) and HMO or Managed Care companies.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Home care and managed care experience.
- Knowledge of health insurance verification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Computer literacy.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Responsibilities
- Request authorization for home care services for patients with HMO/Managed Care payment sources.
- Act as a liaison between community-based Coordinators of Care (COCs) and HMO/Managed Care companies.
