About The Position
PAR is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic full-time Authorization Specialist to perform all aspects of authorizing Biologic department procedure, and other tasks related to medical billing claims for the practice.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of medical billing office experience in medical practice or one year of customer service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM
- Knowledge of a medical authorization life cycle.
- Knowledge of EMR documentation.
- Knowledge of effective claim follow up.
- Computer software skills in a Windows environment
- Skill in using Allscripts PM and EMR
- Skill in using office equipment, including multi line phone, copier, and fax machine.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Cycle Process.
- Authorization Processing.
- Apply Private Payer Policies.
- Apply Government Payer Policies.
- Follow up on Claim Statuses.
- Resolve Claim Denials.
- Submit Appeals.
- Daily Analysis and Resolution of outstanding insurance accounts receivable.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II Coding Guidelines
- Complete daily tasks: responding to insurance representatives.
- Assist Billing Director with daily workload as time permits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by provider, supervisor, or member of Administration – for example, cross trained to improve the revenue cycle.
