About The Position
The Authorization Rep is responsible for managing the authorization process within the healthcare setting. This role involves ensuring that necessary approvals are obtained for patient services, coordinating with insurance providers, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of healthcare billing and insurance procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare, business, finance, or insurance related field.
- Experience with use of personal computers in a home workspace.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in business, Finance, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle that includes prior authorization.
- Experience with payment collections.
Responsibilities
- Manage the authorization process for patient services.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain necessary approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and related documentation.
- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers regarding authorization status.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
