About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking an Authorization Specialist to join the Centralized Scheduling Department at its Crestline location. The position contacts payers to request service authorization and collects financial or demographic information from patients, as well as clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting performing related tasks.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework.
- Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Experience with EPIC information systems.
Responsibilities
- Contact payers to request service authorization.
- Collect financial and/or demographic information from patients.
- Collect clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers.
