About The Position
Join our Team as an Authorization Benefit Specialist I. Are you detail-oriented and passionate about helping patients access the care they need? We’re looking for a compassionate, caring, and dedicated Authorization Benefit Specialist I to join our team and help us continue our tradition of excellence. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring patients receive the necessary authorization approvals for scheduled outpatient procedures. Working closely with physicians and healthcare teams, you’ll help facilitate a smooth patient experience while supporting accurate reimbursement and minimizing financial impacts for both patients and the organization.
Requirements
- Completion of High School or GED is required.
- Two to four years of experience in a physician's office, hospital registration, collection agency, hospital or professional billing, or training at an educational institution that includes medical billing is required.
Nice To Haves
- Epic and insurance knowledge is a plus but is not required.
Responsibilities
- Obtain pre-certifications for scheduled outpatient procedures to support timely patient care and accurate reimbursement.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with physicians and healthcare partners regarding authorization requirements.
- Review and process authorization-related information accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize strong communication, multitasking, and basic math skills to manage daily responsibilities.
- Support revenue cycle operations while helping ensure a positive patient experience.
