About The Position

The Auditor, Lead will plan, conduct, and lead audits for the ABS QE Aerospace Program. This position is remote. The role involves attending required training, following ABS-QE procedures for client management, home-office operations, equipment use, and internal/external communication. The position requires following a training plan to achieve assessor and lead assessor status. Responsibilities include collaborating with Client Service Representatives for client contact and scheduling, planning assessments, making travel arrangements, conducting assessments, and reporting results. The role also involves working with the Aerospace Technical Manager on customer concerns and ICOT scheme requirements. The Auditor, Lead will perform 3rd party onsite audits for national and international customers, lead teams when necessary, and mentor/coach new colleagues. They will schedule and plan audit activities with customers, interact with customers at all management levels, and provide accurate reports on management system implementation and maintenance. The position requires timely and accurate reviews of audit results, corrective actions, and closures. Participation in additional training based on business needs and other assignments to meet assessment delivery objectives are also part of the role. The Auditor, Lead will review quality manuals and associated documentation for compliance with requirements and applicable codes/standards. While the position is remote, regular travel (50%+) to client sites and project locations is a core part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the Aviation, Space and Defense industry.
  • At least one year's experience as an AEA for either AS9100, AS110, or AS9120.
  • Current Lead Auditor authentication in either AS9100, AS9120 or AS9100.
  • Authentication in ISO 9001, 14001 or 13485 will be acceptable with experience in the Aviation, Space and Defense industry that can meet the requirements for Aerospace Authentication.
  • Minimum four (4) years of previous experience with Quality Control/Quality Assurance/Environmental related activities including auditing experience in Petroleum and/or Chemical Manufacturing industries is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and lead audits for the ABS QE Aerospace Program.
  • Attend required training and follow all procedures/processes/policies within ABS-QE.
  • Follow the training plan developed by the Global Competency Program to reach assessor status and then Lead assessor status.
  • Work with Client Service Representatives for contacting clients and scheduling visits.
  • Plan assessments, make travel plans, conduct assessments, and report and manage the results.
  • Work with the Aerospace Technical Manager on all customer concerns and ICOT scheme requirements.
  • Perform 3rd party onsite audits for National and International customers.
  • Lead teams, when necessary, and mentor and coach new or inexperienced colleagues as needed.
  • Schedule and plan audit activities with customers.
  • Interact directly with customers at all levels of management by developing accurate reports regarding the implementation and maintenance of their management system.
  • Provide timely and accurate reviews of audit results, corrective actions, and closures.
  • Participate in additional training based on future business needs.
  • Perform any other assignments as needed to meet assessment delivery business objectives.
  • Review quality manuals and associated documentation for compliance with requirements and applicable codes and/or standards.
