About The Position

The Oklahoma Office of the State Auditor and Inspector (SAI) is seeking AUDITOR I1 applicants with high integrity, strong work ethic, and a commitment to its Mission to work in our County Audit Division – Eastern Area located out of our Ada District Office which includes but not limited to the following county courthouses: Adair, Cherokee, Haskell, LeFlore, McIntosh, Muskogee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or other business-related field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting and/or audit environment is necessary.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize accounting and auditing skills to audit county governments and other political entities, which includes but not limited to the following county courthouses: Adair, Cherokee, Haskell, LeFlore, McIntosh, Muskogee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties.
  • Flexibility with travel and overnight arrangements are essential for this position as travel to audit sites will be required and overnight stays possible for some audits.
  • Selected applicant will not be able to perform auditing work within the same county they reside.
