About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as an Auditor 2 within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families with flexible, high-quality, and member-driven services and supports. These services aim to provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and community engagement. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Requirements

  • Auditing principles, standards and techniques.
  • Long-Term Care service delivery system.
  • Federal and state laws and agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures surrounding DDD practices.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Products including Word and Excel to manipulate and present data.
  • Assessing, reviewing, and/or analyzing situations and/or data, i.e. critical thinking.
  • Time management and organization.
  • Evaluate data and documents to determine compliance level.
  • Complete reports based on data and documents in an accurate, clear and professional manner, including recommendations for corrective action.
  • Work independently with general supervision.
  • Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks.
  • Successfully pass background and reference check.
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Up to two years experience conducting compliance audits, writing comprehensive reports (e.g., individual plans and/or care plans, etc.), or assessing organizational systems (e.g., community residential, day or employment settings, etc.).
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews documentation and monitors Home and Community Based Services per AHCCCS requirements.
  • Conducts statewide on-site audits for the Adult Developmental and Child Developmental Programs. Reviews are conducted annually.
  • Writes monitoring/audit summary reports, verifies corrective actions plans submitted by vendor ensuring implementation of and ongoing system improvements.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed.
  • Creates and maintains tracking databases.
  • Establishes and maintains electronic agency files.
