Under direction of the Admin Unit Manager - Accounting & Audit, participate in on-site team audits of the financial and service records of community programs serving IRC consumers. Provide technical assistance to vendors on establishment and maintenance of proper records. This role involves reviewing program costs during rate appeals, vendor management of consumer funds, and preparing written reports on findings. The auditor will conduct on-site audits of financial records, review internal controls, authenticate transactions, and ensure account balances are accurately stated and classified. Responsibilities also include reviewing vendor payroll, attendance/mileage, consultant hours, and consumer funds to ensure compliance with regulations and contract provisions. The position requires utilizing statistical sampling, maintaining audit work papers, performing desk reviews, and discussing recommendations with vendors. Collaboration with regional center staff and management is essential, as is working cooperatively within a team. The role also includes maintaining a neat work area, observing safety rules, and complying with IRC's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. The ability to handle a hybrid work environment, communicate effectively through various channels, adapt to change, and maintain good attendance and punctuality are crucial. Proficiency in agency IT systems, attending training, and complying with personnel policies are also required.
