About The Position
Ascend is partnering with BiggsKofford, a prominent CPA firm in Colorado, to find an experienced Audit professional. This role focuses on serving closely held businesses, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations. Audit Seniors at BiggsKofford work directly with business owners and executive leadership, building strong client relationships and contributing to their success. The firm offers a team-oriented, friendly work environment with flexible work options in both Colorado Springs and Denver. BiggsKofford goes beyond traditional audit compliance, engaging in projects that assist clients with various business matters to help them achieve their goals. Candidates should have a desire to consult with clients on diverse aspects of their business, extending beyond standard audit engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 4+ years of accounting firm audit experience
- CPA license or actively in process
- Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft programs
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented

Responsibilities
- Perform audit, review, or compilation procedures for clients
- Perform effective risk and internal control assessments and audit planning
- Responsible for all engagement phases, including planning, fieldwork, financial statement and report preparation, and delivery
- Review staff work, prepare high-risk audit sections, and draft financial statements
- Provide financial and business analysis post-fieldwork to improve client controls and procedures
- Collect and analyze client information to solve problems and meet deadlines
- Train and delegate tasks to staff based on availability and experience
- Conduct fieldwork at client locations and for remote clients
- Meet assigned deadlines or budgets and demonstrate proactive communication regarding such
