About The Position

This role involves supervising all aspects of accounting, tax, or audit engagements for clients, including providing status updates to engagement managers and adhering to quality control standards. The position requires developing a deep understanding of the client's business to contribute to engagement analysis and planning. The Audit Supervisor is responsible for adhering to engagement budget constraints, completing tasks within the requested timeframe, and explaining any variances. They must also achieve charge hour goals and review the accounting, tax, or auditing work of engagement team members, providing constructive feedback. Additionally, the role includes supervising and guiding team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and training/mentoring them to support their professional development. The position also assists in the client billing process and encourages the development of specialized industry knowledge. Leveraging this expertise, the Audit Supervisor will identify cross-serve opportunities within client engagements and participate in practice development activities. Administrative duties and additional responsibilities as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all aspects of accounting, tax or audit engagements for clients including status updates to engagement managers and adhere to all quality control standards as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s business, contributing to the analysis and planning of client engagements
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed
  • Achieve charge hour goals
  • Review engagement team members’ accounting, tax or auditing work: provide constructive review points
  • Supervise and guide team members on engagements, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Train and mentor engagement team members, supporting their technical and professional development
  • Assist in the client billing process with Managers, Directors or Managing Directors
  • Identify an industry or area of specialization and develop skills, knowledge and expertise in that area
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
  • Participate in practice development activities, such as membership in qualified organizations, capable of referring potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
