About The Position
An established, independent public accounting firm in Western Massachusetts is hiring an Audit Manager to fill a key gap on its assurance team. You'll run audit engagements across a genuinely varied client base — nonprofit, health care, manufacturing, construction, and retail — and lead the teams that execute them. You'll sit directly below the director on the assurance side, filling the space between senior leadership and staff, with a clear runway to grow.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of audit experience in public accounting (5+ considered with the right depth)
- Strong engagement management and review skills
- Experience leading teams and working directly with clients
- CPA (strongly preferred; required for the advancement path)
- Interest in a smaller-firm environment with real variety and a voice
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and review audit engagements from start to finish
- Lead and develop audit staff and seniors on engagement teams
- Own client relationships across a diverse industry mix
- Manage workflow and quality through reporting deadlines
- Bridge the gap between the assurance director and the staff team
