About The Position

We are seeking individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in public accounting to serve as interns working as entry-level staff accountants in our audit and accounting department during tax season. We are also seeking December graduates looking for fulltime employment opportunities. The internship will involve working with a team performing audits, reviews, and compilations for not for profit, manufacturing, health care and construction clients. Interns will also prepare tax returns which include corporate, partnership, trust, and individual returns.

Requirements

• Willing to travel to client sites during the day in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.
• Provide two or three full days to work on engagements with the team.
• Ability to work an average of 25 hours per week beginning in mid-January running through April 15th (tax season).
• Pursuing Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting
• Must have completed intermediate accounting courses
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer skills: Excel, able to quickly learn software packages
• Independent self-starter able to work independently and as a team.
• Strong work ethic
• Willing attitude and the aptitude to learn
• Ability to work minimum of two full days during and a minimum four hours on Saturdays during from January through April 15th (Averaging 25 hours per week)

Nice To Haves

• Prefer juniors and seniors, will consider sophomores
• Prior experience in public accounting or general accounting a plus
• Interested in pursuing career in public accounting and desire to attain CPA certification
