About The Position

As a Portland - Audit - Intern, you will engage in financial statement audits, gaining exposure to PwC's methodologies and practices. This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills in auditing and assurance, providing independent assessments to support transparency and compliance. As an Intern, you will support teams by participating in projects, focusing on learning and gaining exposure to professional environments. You will perform basic tasks and conduct research, contributing to the team's success while observing and learning from experienced professionals. In this role within our Assurance practice, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, enhancing your understanding of financial reporting and decision-making. You will be encouraged to ask questions, take initiative, and produce quality work that adds value for our clients. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in the following field of study: Accounting
  • At least a 3.0 overall GPA
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (i.e., read, write, speak) with business level fluency in Chinese and English
  • Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment
  • Client service intern positions are considered entry-level roles. Candidates are typically in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application

Responsibilities

  • Supporting audit teams in conducting financial statement audits to uphold transparency and compliance
  • Participating in the review and verification of financial documents to confirm accuracy and adherence to regulations
  • Applying auditing methodologies to assist in the evaluation of financial information
  • Observing and learning from experienced auditors to gain insights into audit processes and practices
  • Engaging in basic tasks and research to contribute to the team's success
  • Assisting in the application of accounting and financial reporting standards during audits
  • Collaborating with team members to enhance understanding of client management and relationship development
  • Developing a foundational understanding of internal controls and their role in financial audits
  • Utilizing active listening skills to effectively gather and interpret information during audit engagements
