About The Position
The Audiovisual Technician at The Asbury Hotel brings both expertise and a sense of ownership to the systems and spaces that make this property exceptional. The A/V Technician responsible for setting up and operating a variety of audio-visual equipment. Reliability, skill, and a willingness to go beyond the obvious repair make this role central to The Asbury's day-to-day excellence. The A/V Technician responsible for setting up and operating a variety of audio-visual equipment. It is also responsible for trouble-shooting any issues and tearing down (striking) equipment post-event.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Previous work at a live music venue, or comparable experience
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of audio and video technology as well as lighting, with a background in live sound engineering
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
- High energy level and positive attitude.
- Reliability, honesty, and integrity.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
- Must have the ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Performs the load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment
- Cabling and gaffing, and assist audio & lighting crew as directed
- Band Set changes
- Ensure that band(s) have required items needed to perform the show(s).
- Communicating effectively with production team
- Hanging show banners, updating marquees and other signage in the venue
- Assist lighting & audio crew as directed by Production Manager; Spotlight operation if required
- Daily PA System setup and breakdown, with lighting, pro-gaffing for safety and neatness
- Running professional sound equipment for musicians
- Checking in/out artists and entertainers
- Troubleshoot, test, and resolve technical issues
- Organizing AV closet during down time
