About The Position

This is senior level lead administrative, professional and technical engineering work responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and support of enterprise audio-visual (AV) systems across County Government facilities. With a great deal of independence, the incumbent serves as the Office of Information Technology (OIT) primary AV subject-matter expert, delivering and sustaining a standards-based collaboration environment aligned to the OIT Conference Room & Digital Signage Standards. Core responsibilities are Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) endpoints, Crestron Flex control systems, digital wall displays and signage, executive/VIP office AV, and vendor and integrator management. The incumbent also provides procedural backup support to the Network/Telecom team. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Network Infrastructure Manager and evaluated through technical performance outcomes, service level adherence, and agency service effectiveness. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Network Infrastructure Division Manager and is evaluated in terms of technical adequacy, accuracy, and efficiency as evidenced by compliant and proper system and network functioning; and adherence to established timeframes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or business or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an information technology engineering field, in which at least two (2) years must have involved lead/supervisory duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to respond to service calls after normal business hours, when required.
  • Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.
  • Please note there is no equivalency for the required supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience designing, installing, configuring, commissioning, maintaining, and supporting enterprise audiovisual systems.
  • Experience serving as a lead audiovisual engineer or subject-matter expert for conference rooms, executive offices, command centers, chambers, training rooms, or other high-visibility environments.
  • Advanced experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Microsoft Teams Admin Center, Crestron Flex systems, Q-SYS, or comparable enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex AV issues, conducting root-cause analysis, and managing system firmware and lifecycle activities.
  • Five or more years of experience configuring and supporting audiovisual control systems, cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, digital signal processors, switching equipment, and related room technologies.
  • Experience managing audiovisual vendors, integrators, warranty claims, return merchandise authorizations, firmware escalations, and contractor deliverables.
  • Knowledge of AV networking, cybersecurity, accessibility requirements, and technical documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and commission conference room AV systems in conformance with OIT Standards, applying the appropriate room configuration and integrating approved components).
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and serves as the Service Desk escalation point for all conference AV issues.
  • Monitors device health via AVOC (Crestron XiO Cloud, Teams Admin Center, Q-SYS Reflect) and maintains lifecycle tracking for all room endpoints.
  • Manages conference room AV vendors and integrators.
  • Serves as the County's technical POC for warranty claims, advanced replacement, firmware escalations, and support cases.
  • Reviews contractor deliverables for conformance with OIT standards prior to acceptance and payment authorization.
  • Manages the full lifecycle of enterprise digital signage infrastructure.
  • Leads installation and integration of large-format LCD and dvLED video walls in lobbies, command centers, chambers, and executive spaces.
  • Supports agency signage operators with CMS orientation and ADA-compliant content templates.
  • Manages signage vendors.
  • Coordinates procurement, warranty administration, RMA processing, and firmware lifecycle communications.
  • Evaluates vendor proposals against OIT display standards before recommending approval.
  • Provides backup support to the Teams Phone engineering team during absence or surge workload. Scope is limited to well-defined tasks: call queue and auto-attendant configuration, user provisioning and licensing, and Teams Admin Center policy adjustments.
