About The Position

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Audiology Assistant (Part-Time) to join their team in Wilmington, Delaware. The position involves providing essential patient care within the audiology department, including performing hearing screenings, minor troubleshooting, and repairs of hearing technology. The role also supports administrative duties such as ordering, stocking, and organizing supplies and equipment across assigned satellite locations. The position requires occasional travel to Milford, DE.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience required.
  • Travel to satellite locations required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete newborn hearing screenings (NBHS), document in patient’s electronic medical record, enter charges, report results using appropriate state database, and meet with care team to share information.
  • Assist audiologists in testing infants, toddlers, preschool, and adolescent patients.
  • Perform routine daily functions such as stocking supplies, equipment biologic checks/troubleshooting, and ensuring patient care areas are adequately equipped.
  • Assist audiologists with all operations related to hearing devices such as hearing aids (HA), bone conduction hearing devices (BCHD), ear molds (EM), cochlear implants (CI), and assistive listening devices (ALD) systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting/repairs, provide direct patient contact for troubleshooting and education, enter charges appropriately, and document in patient’s chart.
  • Order supplies and devices, check-in equipment, receive packages, perform budget and spreadsheets maintenance, complete payment requests, and reconcile accounts payable.
  • Maintain order and responsibility for loaner and consignment hearing aids and other department stock, including appropriate paperwork and EPIC documentation.
  • Respond to patient and family queries and EPIC messages, and aid in communication for audiologists as needed.
  • Complete all required training related to hearing devices and attend assigned staff meetings and product informational meetings.
