The Audiologist plays a key role in improving patients’ hearing and communication abilities through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Requirements
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from an accredited program.
- Valid state audiology license to practice.
- Experience with audiometric testing and hearing aid technology.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and counseling abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Patient-centered care approach
- Ability to operate specialized audiology equipment
Nice To Haves
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hearing and balance evaluations using audiometric equipment.
- Diagnose hearing disorders such as hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular (balance) conditions.
- Fit, program, and maintain hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Provide aural rehabilitation and counseling to patients and families.
- Educate patients on hearing conservation and protection strategies.
- Maintain accurate patient records, test results, and treatment documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Stay updated on advances in audiology technology and treatment methods.
