About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Full-Time Audiologist to our Physical Medicine Team! This position is eligible for benefits and works 40 hours per week on the first shift, from 8a – 4:30p. The Audiologist is responsible for performing diagnostic hearing and hearing aid evaluations, providing industrial hearing conservation programs, VNG studies, and dispensing, maintenance, and repair of hearing aids. The role involves interpreting findings, establishing plans of care, referring patients, and counseling patients and families. Documentation of patient data is crucial, as is knowledge of OSHA rules for hearing conservation. The position also includes participation in performance improvement, community and staff education, and supervision of student interns. The Audiologist will maintain a clean and safe work area, participate in program development, and interact respectfully with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Coverage may be provided to other Physical Medicine locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher in Audiology from an accredited program
  • American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider CPR and AED Certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees, companies, payors, vendors, patients and family members.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to strive for excellence are essential components of this position.
  • Ability to problem solve and reason.
  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software, is required.
  • Organization, time management, flexibility, and positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.
  • Continuous professional development is expected.
  • If Providing Audiology Services in Wisconsin Current License in the State of Wisconsin as an Audiologist at the time of hire or prior to providing services.
  • If Providing Audiology Services in Illinois Current License in the State of Illinois as an Audiologist at the time of hire or prior to providing services.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple demands.
  • Services are provided in compliance with federal, state, professional organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs screens and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Interprets findings of evaluations and diagnoses specific type of hearing disorder.
  • Establishes and executes appropriate plan of care.
  • Refers patients to other professionals and agencies when indicated.
  • Counsels and educates patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Documents patient data (evaluations, progress notes, audiograms, etc.) according to department policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations as they pertain to hearing conservation and maintains program compliance (or informs company of how to maintain compliance) for all industrial contracts.
  • Participates in performance improvement, community, and staff education programs.
  • Shares in supervision of student interns of Audiology programs, or shadow students.
  • Performs the necessary functions to prepare, maintain, and clean up the work area to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Participates in program development e.g., implementing/expanding services, increasing productivity, educating internal and external customers, etc.
  • The Audiologist has regular access to and is expected to maintain the protected health information of patients in their care.
  • Respectfully interacts with a wide variety of internal and external constituents, including (but are not limited to) team members, staff and physicians, local companies, patients, families, vendors, and all insurance representatives.
  • Provides coverage to other Physical Medicine locations and settings as necessary based on patient care/departmental needs.
