The Audiologist 2 administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination tests, to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Also participates in teaching and research in audiology/vestibular diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Relies on education and training to complete responsibilities. Works under minimal supervision. Creativity is expected to perform job. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice.
