About The Position

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician assists with the setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment to support classrooms, in-person meetings and virtual events. The AV Technician provides AV support for audiovisual systems, including projectors, sound systems, video displays, and virtual conferencing platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and escalates complex issues to senior staff as needed. The AV Technician provides real-time support and facilitation for routine and high-profile events, including College-Wide Forum ( CWF ) and Board of Trustees ( BOT ) meetings. The technician maintains AV equipment functionality, performs routine maintenance under guidance, and follows established operational procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in audiovisual support, AV technical services, or event production.
• Experience setting up and operating AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in information technology, audiovisual technology, or a related field.
• 1 year of experience with an associate's degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience.
• Experience supporting live or virtual events is a plus.
• Industry certifications such as AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist or Extron AV Associate preferred.
