About The Position

PEAKE is seeking experienced Audio Installation Technicians for a 10-month Department of the Army (DoW) contract, with potential for extension. This role focuses on hands-on audiovisual installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and integration. Candidates should be comfortable reading technical diagrams and have experience with structured cabling. Travel expenses, including lodging, mileage, and per diem, are covered. PEAKE values veteran transitions and military communications experience. An active DoW Secret clearance or higher is required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of dedicated hands-on AV experience, with demonstrated experience installing, configuring, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining audiovisual systems and equipment, including video walls and other integrated AV systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and system documentation to support AV installation, integration, troubleshooting, and system validation.
  • 5+ years of dedicated hands-on structured cabling experience, including the installation, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting of CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optic cabling.
  • Direct hands-on experience in cabling, network infrastructure installation, and AV systems installation.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AV control systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with copper (CAT 5/6) and fiber optic cabling: installation, termination, and testing.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards and closet hardware installation.
  • Ability to configure networks and perform installation-level troubleshooting to validate connectivity and system performance.
  • Previous team lead duties on relevant installation or infrastructure projects.
  • Physically capable of field work: maneuvering around installation sites and communications closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting 50 lbs or more.
  • Must be able to work safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Active DoW Secret clearance or higher is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Crestron and Extron systems.
  • Security+ certification.
  • BICSI Installer/Technician certification or equivalent, proven experience as a fiber optic specialist.
  • Applicable hardware, software, or AV system certifications commensurate with the technical environment.
  • Military communications and networking experience is highly valued.
  • Relevant military occupational specialties may include: Army: 25R, 25L, 25H; Air Force / Space Force: 3D1X7; Navy: IC, ET, IT; Marine Corps: 0631.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, maintain, and dismantle AV equipment including microphones, speakers, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, video walls, video cameras, video monitors and servers, and related electronic equipment.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support AV control systems, including touch panels, DSPs, switchers, and associated control hardware.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation to support AV installation, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Route and terminate AV signal cabling; verify signal flow and equipment functionality from source to display and output.
  • Troubleshoot AV system issues and validate quality of signal, audio clarity, and visual output prior to event execution.
  • Support integration of AV systems with network infrastructure where required by the scope of work.
  • Coordinate with facility stakeholders and team members to execute AV installations aligned with client and mission requirements.
  • CAT6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation
  • Ability to terminate Ethernet and fiber cables using various methods; familiarity with common connector types and manufacturers
  • Experience testing fiber optic installations (single-mode and multi-mode) and basic troubleshooting using Fluke or OTDR equipment
  • Installing, terminating, and testing copper and fiber cabling
  • Installing closet hardware, including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures
  • Cable pulling, fire stopping, cable dressing, and labeling to industry standards
  • Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and operational guidelines (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix).
  • Attending training and safety meetings and working safely at all times
